I know, I know, Christmas is over and you’re likely not looking around for gift ideas. But I figured I’d share these with you now anyway in the hopes that it will give you some inspiration for next year! In my opinion, it’s never too early to start planning – but that may have to do with the fact that I am ridiculously organized (obsessively organized according to my husband).
While I wanted to post these before Christmas, I didn’t want to spoil the surprise for the recipients. I have a pretty large family and every year I struggle to come up with gift ideas that people can actually use and that won’t go to waste. So this year I decided it was time to make fun gift baskets with homemade treats.
Due to some time limitations, I only wound up making three homemade items to go in the baskets.
I packaged each of these items up with cute tags and ribbon. Of course our printer broke the week before Christmas so I wound up making all the tags by hand. I bought blank white tags at Target and then used different shaped hole punchers and patterned paper to make the designs.
All of the items were placed inside large boxes I found at a local craft store, with some red shredded paper for a fun garnish (and to support the bottom). I also tucked an adorable wooden ornament frame into each package that I bought from The Carving Tree at the end of last year’s holiday season.
Overall, I was really happy with how these came out. And I’m super excited to come up with new ideas for next year’s baskets. Hmmm time to start brainstorming…
